Scholarships and Research Fellowship

Through cooperation with other non governmental organizations in the US and in Turkey, the Turkish Cultural Foundation provides scholarships and research fellowships to support education and research in the humanities in Turkey.

  • Harvard University, Ottoman and Turkish Summer School in Cunda

    The Turkish Cultural Foundation has awarded a multi-year grant to the Intensive Ottoman and Turkish Summer School of Harvard University’s Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, located on the small Aegean island of Cunda in Ayvalik, Turkey.

  • National Hellenic Research Foundation

    The Turkish Cultural Foundation awards two scholarships annually to Turkish graduate students who are enrolled in a Ph.D. degree and preparing their dissertation on Greek studies or to postgraduate students studying Greek Ottoman history. The scholarship is designed to provide support to Turkish graduate students enrolled in the Ottoman Studies Program at the National Hellenic Research Foundation.
     
    Τhe Ottoman Studies Program at the National Hellenic Research Foundation each year trains two Turkish postgraduate students specializing in issues pertaining to Greek history, particularly the economic and social history of Greek regions during the 15th to the beginning of 19th century, and the material and intellectual culture of theRum millet in Asia Minor. The Program collaborates with universities in Turkey by following corresponding researches and publishing studies jointly with Turkish colleagues. The program aims to increase collaborative studies relating to the Balkans and Asia Minor and support Turkish students who conduct research in the National Archives and libraries  of Athens.

  • Cam Ocagi Vakfi- (Glass Furnace Foundation)

    The Turkish Cultural Foundation provides funding to train and employ two apprentices at the Cam Ocagi Vakfi-Glass Furnace Foundation to sustain the development of the Foundation and four scholarships to participants in the Foundation′s glass art workshops.

  • Turk Tarihi Evleri Koruma Dernegi (Association for the Protection of Turkish Historical Houses)

    The Turkish Cultural Foundation provided to Turk Tarihi Evleri Koruma Dernegi for 10 scholarships to students studying restoration in Turkey.

  • Turkish American Women′s Scholarship Fund

    The Turkish Cultural Foundation provided 11 scholarships to Turkish American Women's Scholarship Fund for female students studying humanities at Turkish universities.

  • Turkish Educational Foundation

    The Turkish Cultural Foundation provided 20 scholarships for elementary to high-school level students in Turkey based on need and academic excellence through an annual grant to the Turkish Educational Foundation.

  • Cagdas Yasami Destekleme Dernegi (CYDD)- (Association in Support for Contemporary Living)

    The Turkish Cultural Foundation provided 30 scholarships in 2005/2006 to support the "Father Send me to School / Baba Beni Okula Gonder" campaign of CYDD in Turkey to increase primary school enrollment among needy girls.   • Georgetown University

    The Turkish Cultural Foundation provided multi-year funding to provide scholarships for a semester abroad program at the Georgetown University McGhee Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies in Alanya, Turkey.   • Northwestern University

    The Turkish Cultural Foundation  provided a scholarship grant to Northwestern University for 10 students to participate in summer study programs in Turkey.
