The day before America celebrated Independence Day, Watertown Middle School teacher Denise Ottenbacher left for Turkey. Despite missing the country's annual celebration, she was able to gain a once in a lifetime cultural experience and understanding.

"We spent 14 days over there and every day was wow," said Ottenbacher. "There's probably a lot more history in Turkey than in most places."
