Secretary Clinton says U.S. President Obama to visit Turkey in a month
The U.S. President Barack Obama will pay a visit to Turkey “in a month or so”, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Saturday in Ankara where she is paying a visit. Clinton said the visit is "a reflection of the value we place on our friendship with Turkey" and that a date would be set soon. Diplomatic sources said it is unclear whether this comes under the new administration’s goal of visiting Islamic countries or if he will attend the Alliance of Civilizations meetings scheduled in early April in Istanbul.

History colors all of Turkey's Turquoise Coast - The Boston Globe
"We knew the fish at lunch was fresh. Just 10 minutes before, our captain had plucked this catch from a wire basket he had pulled onto the boat. Once aboard, the fish were barbecued whole on a grill in the bow before appearing at our table on the stern deck of our "gulet" (pronounced goo-let), an 85-foot replica of a traditional Turkish fishing boat. We ate them with warm bread, tomatoes, two kinds of olives, mixed salad, feta cheese, stuffed peppers, bulgar, and strawberries.
Fresh food and brilliant sunshine are a large part of every small-boat cruise along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts. But it's the color of the water - a dazzling, clear, intense blue - that brings travelers here from all over the world. At greater depths the water becomes a strong cobalt blue, morphing into a lighter luminosity that mimics the semiprecious gem and gives this part of Turkey its name: the Turquoise Coast."

Flocking to Turkey: The Aegean is a new retirement hot-spot - The Daily Mail
Turkey is featuring prominently in the plans of Britons looking to retire overseas. With falling property prices, a warm and sunny climate and, crucially, no euro, the attractions are obvious. One in eight British people over 55 will live abroad by next year, says the Institute for Public Policy Research. But the strength of the euro has made many would-be émigrés wary of old favourites such as the Costa del Sol, while the collapse of the property market in the U.S. has put people off crossing the Atlantic.
Instead, many people are looking to Turkey's Mediterranean and Aegean coasts, where the vast majority of the 20,600 British owned properties are located, and where the cost of living is up to 60 per cent cheaper than in the UK.
